In short: The spacebar counter counts how many times you press the spacebar in 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds and shows your presses per second. Holding the key down does not count — every press has to be a real one.

Does holding the spacebar count?
No. Auto-repeat from holding the key is ignored, so only real presses count.
